MLG: A Summary of Likes!
Attending Major League Gaming: Anaheim Tour was amazing. Not only did I go with fun people, I was able to really and truly realize my complete and utter love for the game of Starcraft 2!
First off, I got to interact hands-on with the Starcraft community. Although you can tell right off the bat who the trolls are (they’re ones who have a variety of insulting posters and signs), the community was SO NICE. It really shocked me! If someone brushed their elbow against you, they’d turn around and apologize, exclaiming how sorry and how it’s completely their fault! Aside form there, there are a multitude of levels of players, from Bronze to Grandmasters, all sharing their excitement in their love of the game.
Next, there was tons of free Dr. Pepper. Holy crap, I must have drank my tickets monetary value worth. It was awesome. I felt caffeinated three days straight.
There was some free stuff, but nothing too fancy.
MLG offered so many opportunities for Fan and Player interaction! Gamers like IdrA and Boxer were able to walk freely and interact with their fans. It was awesome. I was able to meet Team Liquid’s Jinro, Evil Genius’ IdrA, Slayers’ Boxer and Ganzi among some names. I also got a couple of autographs, and met casters Husky and Day9!
I’ll post another time, furthering my insights on the entire event.

The number of Muslims who act on the violent teachings of Islam are a very small minority. This photo is generalizing and discriminating an entire culture based on a single individual. Although there are clear and unsolvable differences between Western ideals and Islamic Theology, most Muslims prefer to utilize peaceful means to practice and spread their faith, just like how most US voters do not fall under a bipartisan line of Republican or Democrat, but rather, fall in the middle as independents voting on their personal experiences and background.
Also, this is historically false. Although there were many violent Religious Wars (on all sides of religions really), Islamic Empires were typically the most tolerant to other religions and ethnicites, most notably the Jews. They typically charged taxes to the “sister faiths” of Judaism and Christianity, and preferred not to persecute those they considered “of the book.” For example, Moorish Spain did not discriminate against the Jews nor Christians, but as soon as a Christian monarch was reinstate, he exiled Jews and Muslims. So no, Fanatical Muslim Terrorist Osama bin-Laden does not represent ALL Muslims. In fact, he is one of the first Muslim figures in History to be extremely intolerant and to actually act on his intolerant ideals.
Anders Behring Breivik, picture left, it is unfair to portray him as the label Christian. Skimming through his 1,500 page manifesto he wrote, most of it derives itself of Marxist based ideology, while his Christian background rides the coat-tails of Marxism. If anything, he is more Anti-Muslim than he his pro-Christian, from the sound of his extremely cultural-conservative viewpoints.

As of now, Starcraft 2 has locked in players into their leagues, in anticipation of the Season 2 reset for the start of Season 3, planned on July 19th. With less than a hundred on my bonus pool left, I managed to sneak my way into the top eight of my division.
